VELLAMO

The name Vellamo comes from the old finnish religion.

“Vellamo is good and lenient hostess of water, old woman of water, mother of water. Vellamo has a chest of straws, clothed in the foams of the sea. Vellamo lives beneath the waves in Ahtola, with his husband Ahti, God of All Waters. Together they look after the goods of the waters and when favourable, they offer catch for the fishermen.”
